Weimar, 30 May 2023 – IBU-tec advanced materials AG (“IBU-tec”, ISIN: DE000A0XYHT5) has once again received the “EcoVadis Silver” award in the EcoVadis rating for its sustainability management. With an overall score of 67 points, IBU-tec was able to improve significantly compared to the last rating (2021: 59 points). This makes the IBU-tec Group one of the top 10 percent of companies in its industry worldwide that are evaluated by the platform. Already in 2021, EcoVadis had ranked IBU-tec’s ESG performance among the top 25 percent of all companies.
EcoVadis is the largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies. Using 21 CSR criteria, the platform evaluates management processes in the four thematic areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The methodology is based on internationally recognized CSR standards such as the UN Global Compact and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). IBU-tec was once again well above the industry average in all areas, with a significant increase compared to the last rating, especially in the areas of the environment and labor and human rights.
The IBU-tec Group has an integrated quality and environmental management system in accordance with ISO 9001/14001. It operates its own photovoltaic system and a combined heat and power plant and has been using electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources since 2022. With its products, such as LFP battery materials and MBTC glass coating, as well as its range of services in the field of recycling, IBU-tec has clearly positioned itself in the field of greentech. In the area of occupational health and safety, IBU-tec meets the requirements of the ISO 45001 standard, which ensures the highest level of occupational safety for employees. The number of occupational accidents at IBU-tec is perpetually below the industry average.
